A small update to Monster RPG 2 has been published for Android and iOS. The previous update added a "3rd Party Licenses" button on the title screen that didn't work. 2.13.5 makes that button work and fixes an issue with adjusting aspect ratio mode causing text spacing to be too large or small.

Future updates (if and when published) for PC/Linux will have the 3rd Party Licenses button, but I didn't think it was worth it to update just for this feature. iOS/Android get it because the button was ...

A small update to Monster RPG 3 dropped over the past couple days. The update is for mobile (iOS, Android) only and adds the ability to play in portrait mode on phones and tablets. In portrait mode, if the screen is tall enough and you enable onscreen controls, the DPAD and buttons appear below the game visuals rather than overlayed on top.

The update is live on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon, and Humble now.

We have just released a small update to Monster RPG 3. Version 1.1.6 is available everywhere now (Amazon still pending.) This is a fixes release.

A few bugs discovered while working on a new project were fixed in 1.1.6. We also addressed a concern some had about the progression in the game. Previously there was a large jump in stats at the final level so we added an intermediate level to try to avoid this.

We hope these changes make M3 even better than before. If you have thoughts about the ...

This is a review a long time in the making. I first got Dragon Warrior when I was about 10 years old in 1991 or thereabouts. I played it a lot and loved it, but never finished it... until this past week.

This game appears really simple on the surface. Graphics when you're walking around are just a handful of tiles. But underneath it's a well designed game.

There are a lot of layers to the game. The game has a menu where you can choose some commands to perform at your current location. These ...

With everything that's going on regarding user privacy and data rights (see the GDPR), I've decided to remove logins to this site. I just don't have the resources to comply with this stuff and keep it up to date. So if you have games in your account you want to download, now is the time. Everything will be gone by the end of the month. The site will stay online just to serve news and homepages for games which was the main point anyway. Thanks!

Today was/is the big release day on Steam. The game is now available for Windows, Mac and Linux. This wraps up the Monster RPG 3 release for the most part - although Amazon PC/Mac builds are still not available.

I've been addressing some user feedback today. I'll be looking into any new feedback for a little while at least. If you have anything you like or don't like about M3, leave a comment. Thanks.

It seems like it has been ages since I announced a new game, and indeed it has. Crystal Picnic was released in 2014, almost 4 years ago! It seems like making these games gets harder each time... but we are finally getting close to finishing up the next one.

I don't have a solid release date yet, just a vague "2018" for the release of Monster RPG 3. You can find out a little bit about it on its website. Like Monster RPG 2, it's an RPG with turn based combat. You'll want to play through until the ...

Crystal Picnic 1.10.0 has just been released on Steam. The main new feature of this release is a all-new Korean translation. Besides that, several bugs were fixed that were found while testing the new translation.

Other platforms besides Steam will update over the next few days. The direct downloads from for PC, Mac and Linux are live already, though.

I finally got an Android 2.3 device. Our games didn't work (immediate exit.) That has been fixed. I'm in the process of publishing the updated games to Amazon, Google Play and

Devices on Android versions below 3.1 will not have gamepad support but that is a limitation of Android and not the games themselves. Android 2.x devices with OpenGL ES 2 are already rare so hopefully a lot of people weren't affected by this to begin with.

Crystal Picnic and Monster RPG 2 are now back on the Amazon Appstore! Anyone who owned the games there before can access the up-to-date versions. I plan to add achievements to the Amazon ports to bring them up to speed with other ports. The games are also coming to Amazon PC/Mac soon!

Monster RPG 2 2.12.2 is on the way, starting with iOS and Mac OS X. It's mainly a bugfix release and has the following changes:

• Allow using spell multiple times in pause menu
• -hide-mouse command line option (not on Mac yet, sorry)
• Fix gamepad support broken in latest version (Mac OS X)
• Fix achievements repeating every load (iOS)
• Fix 2 rare conditions where the game would hang
• Fix graphical glitch in 3D scene
• Fix panning jumps ...

Monster RPG 2 2.12 is now available for Raspberry Pi! Some of the same changes that were made for Crystal Picnic 1.9 were done for M2, increasing the average FPS to near 60 FPS. The Raspberry Pi release was slightly older than the others so there were a few other changes that made it into this release besides optimizations.

Other ports will be updated over time with the same changes.

Crystal Picnic 1.9 is on the way with an absolute ton of performance optimizations. The idea was to get the Raspberry Pi port up to standards, and it's now running great! The improvements will be nice for owners of other systems as well such as mobiles.

I just submitted an update to Crystal Picnic on Google Play that enables achievements using Google Play Services. The achievements are the same as the Steam version. The version number is 1.8.5 and it should be available over the next couple hours.

This step will allow me to add achievements to Monster RPG 2 on Google Play, too. Perhaps after that, I can add achievements to the iOS and Mac App Store versions of Crystal Picnic (since the code exists in Monster RPG 2 already.)

Crystal Picnic is now on Steam! That was quick. We got Greenlit on Friday and now available in the store on Monday! Thanks to everyone who helped get the game Greenlit and Valve for providing a great service. Keys are coming soon for bundles, this site and The making of this game has been wild... not even going to go there... but it's great to finally be on Steam! Thanks for the support.

This morning Crystal Picnic was Greenlit on Steam. We were not very high up in votes so it was a nice surprise. I'm not sure if Valve Greenlit a lot of games or if they just picked us specially, but whatever the case, I'm glad they did. I've got a lot of work to do now. First I want to add about 10 achievements to the game. Unlike Monster RPG 2, most of them will be real achievements and not just events that happen as you play through the game that are mostly guaranteed to happen. I'll probably have ...

I'm excited to announce that Monster RPG 2 is now available on Steam. The Steam version includes 30 achievements and it sells for $1.99 USD. Steam keys will be available for buyers on this site and the Groupees bundle we are a part of soon.

It's been a long journey for this game. Development started in 2007, then in 2009 to early 2010 the art assets were redone and a lot of improvements made for a commercial iOS release. I've been doing updates to the game this whole time, so I'm really happy ...

Posted by goobliata on 2015-10-08, 10:08pm
I found out when I awoke this afternoon that Monster RPG 2 had been Greenlit. We were sitting at #70 with 952 yes votes (49%) last I checked. Thank you to everyone who voted. Now I'll be working on integrating the achievements from the iOS version with Steamworks.

Monster RPG 3 work will be on hold for a little while until M2 is released on Steam (at least on my end.) I don't expect it to take too long but I'd estimate 2 weeks based on past experience.

Crystal Picnic is still on Greenlight ...

Thanks to coercion from people at Groupees, Crystal Picnic is now back on Steam Greenlight. We hope to get the game approved and add some Steamworks stuff. Check it out and vote if you want to!

The game was removed from Greenlight previously due to personal health reasons of mine. I apologize for that and hope that doesn't happen again.
